Special Members Meeting

Dear CATPM Members,

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to invite you to a Members’ Meeting to discuss the next steps in the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum’s NRFP Design-Build redevelopment project.

Following a comprehensive evaluation process, the Board has selected the proponent with whom CATPM will move forward. At this meeting, we will share the evaluation process, explain the rationale behind the decision, and provide an overview of the next steps as we begin the design-build phase. This meeting is also an opportunity for members to help shape the future of the Museum. We value your ideas and invite you to reflect on the following questions before the meeting.

1. Build the Future
What should our new spaces help us do better?
Think about our visitors, volunteers, aircraft, collections, education programs, community events, and the day-to-day running of the Museum.
If you could add one new feature to the Museum, what would it be?
2. Preserve What Matters
What can we not afford to get wrong?
What parts of the Museum must always be protected as we move forward?
Think about our historic hangar, our collection, accessibility, safety, aircraft operations, and caring for what has been entrusted to us.
What is most important to preserve?
3. Big Decisions Ahead
What decisions do you think the Board will need to make as the redevelopment moves forward?
As the project progresses, there will be important choices.
What do you think we should spend the most time discussing before making those decisions?
4. Looking Ahead
Imagine it is 2050…
The redevelopment is complete.
People are visiting from across Canada and around the world.
What do you hope people will say about the Museum?
Or
What do you hope this project has achieved for future generations?
